		<description>Hey, muchacha,
Planting according to the rhythm of the moon is some of what I learned in the permaculture class I took from the Mayans. It seems very common sense, just follow up and down (yin/yang) energy patterns. From my notes:
baby moon, too tender, not enough juice
crescent moon full of energy, coming of age, pulls nourishment from the soil
full moon, peak energy
waning moon, less energy, good for harvesting
5th day of new moon is good for grafting

There&#039;s lots of tropical ins and outs to consider. I remember learning in Costa Rica the importance of cutting roofing thatch just after the full moon. If you don&#039;t your thatch will be full of eggs that will hatch and destroy your thatch!

You may wish to contact these guys.
Ronaldo Lec ronaldolec@hotmail.com has a school on Lago de Atitlan
Juan Nelson Rojas runs the school in Salvador mesopermacultura@yahoo.es

Please tell them that I sent you. They will remember me as one who sat in their class on Oneida Nation, WI a couple of months ago.

Heading back to Chicago tomorrow after 10 days in NM and CO. A magical journey that I&#039;ll write about more later.
